Obituary of Elsie Mae Calhoun Perry
Mrs. Elsie Calhoun Perry, age 92, of Creston, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013 at her home.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 24, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Big Laural Mennonite church in Creston with Rev. Mike Farmer and Rev. Kerby Herman officiating. Burial will follow in the Calhoun Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday, March 24, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service at Big Laurel Mennonite church in Creston.
Elsie Mae Calhoun was born in Ashe County on Thursday, April 15, 1920 to the late David and Elizabeth Perry Calhoun.
Elsie was preceded in death by her husband Lacey Estel Perry; seven brothers, Lester Calhoun, Johnny Calhoun, Ed Calhoun, Raymond Calhoun, Chanie Calhoun, Gather Calhoun, infant brother Harrison Calhoun; two sisters, Vina Greer, infant sister Alsie Calhoun.
Mrs. Perry is survived by a son, Lacy Estel Perry Jr. and wife Frieda of Mountain City, Tennessee; a daughter, Elizabeth Elaine Brewer and husband Fred of Creston; a granddaughter, Vickie Cooper of Creston; a grandson, Lacey Estel Perry III and wife Niomia of Creston; three step-granddaughters, Laura Gidcumb and husband Joe of Creston, Amanda Eastridge of Jefferson, Ashley Dillard of Mountain City, Tennessee; three great-grandsons, Curtis Perry, Devin Perry, James Cooper, one great-granddaughter, Haley Cooper; one step-great-granddaughter, Hannah Marsh; a longtime special friend, Ruth Barzil of Creston.
