We will always remember Walt as a good friend and generous
neighbor. He loved working in his garden and sharing his vegatables. I can remember Walt walking down the street bringing his little bag of tomatoes. He was a kind and gentle man who we were priviledged to know. He will be greatly missed.

Joyce & Family,we are so sorry to hear of Walter's passing. Since we moved to Maryland in 1963 seems we lost in touch with a lot of our loved ones but glad that Walter and you lived close to our family. They all spoke of what nice people you both were. The last time we saw Walter was when he was cleaning the windows at McDonald's when we went back home for a visit and he talked with us while working. He was always so nice and I thought he looked like Uncle Claude. Didn't know that some of his siblings have passed on. Noticed that Betty Lou is still living and sure would love to have her address and the others. When we were young Dad and Mom would take all of us children down to Uncle Claude's and Aunt Bead and we had so much fun visitng and playing with our cousins; but just lost touch with most of them as we got older and had famiies of our own.
May God hold you all in His loving arms.

Joyce & Family, we are sorry to hear of Walter's Home going. I remember all the good times we had when Dad & Mom (Bill & Hattie Blevins) would load all of us kids up and go visit Uncle claude & Aunt Bead when they lived on the Colvard farm. We always had good meals and a ime for us kids to play while our parents would fellowship. Lots of good memories way back then. Walter was a nice cousin and we think of him and the others a lot. Now that we moved to Chesapeake, VA we aren't able to travel anymore; but do remember the good times.
God bless

I remember him always in the garden and me sitting on his lap when I was younger with him feeding me tomatoes. I remember going to church with you on some Sundays after spending the weekend with you both. Seems like yesterday, all the memories. RIP "Grandpa". Love you and Joyce so much.

We always looked forward to a trip to the mountains to see Grandmaw Eldreth and Uncle Walt. Cousin Gene would take us out on trails to see the "real" lookout points that the tourists don't find. He would lead all seven of us there to view in awe, the beauty of the surrounding view. I would get full of emotions and knew it was home. Uncle Walt was a gracious and kind man. Aunt Joyce always welcomed us. I want to see you all again. Love you-Billy Joe's daughter, Barbara
