Mrs. Boyd Ruth South Mickey, age 78, of Harrisburg, NC, formerly of Ashe County passed away Friday afternoon, October 11, 2013 at Carillon Assisted Living in Harrisburg, NC. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 2:00 at the Calloway Cemetery with Elder Floyd South and Rev. Tommy Graybeal officiating. Mrs. Mickey was born in Ashe County on Wednesday, February 20, 1935 to the late Frelin J. and Esther Burgess South. She worked as a bookkeeper/waitress at Glenn's Restaurant. She was also preceded in death by a triplet brother, Lloyd South and a baby sister, Stella Mae South. She is survived by a son, Scott Mickey and wife Kasia, of Huntersville; three brothers, Earnest South and wife Kitty, of West Jefferson, Glenn South and wife Vilena, of West Jefferson and Elder Floyd South and wife Lea Ella, of West Jefferson; a sister, Barbara South Dillard and husband Dean, of Farmington; thirteen nieces and nephews also survive.
