Obituary of Cloyd "Brownie" Earl Hodges
Mr. Cloyd Earl Hodges, better known as "Brownie", age 89, of Jefferson, passed away Sunday night, October 20, 2013 at Margate Health and Rehab.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Casey and Rev. Jack Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Midway Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites.
The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00pm on Saturday, October 26, 2013two hours prior to the funeral service.
Mr. Hodges was born in Lancaster County, PA on December 4, 1923 to the late Cloyd Charles and Mae Mock Hodges. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church. He was the owner and operator of Hodges Body Shop. He loved his grandchildren and he was always taking care of their dents and bumps that they would get in their cars. He enjoyed listening and dancing to bluegrass and country music.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Bobbie Hill and Mary Hazel Owens and a brother, Dean Hodge; a step-son Dennis Johnson.
Mr. Hodges is survived by two sons, Danny Hodges and wife, Barbara, of West Jefferson and Dayne Hodges and wife, Sherrie, of West Jefferson; a Special Friend, Marie Pennington, of Jefferson; Special Nephew, Joe Hodges and wife, Donna, of Fleetwood; Four grandchildren, Holly Faircloth and husband, Jason, Danny Hodges, Jr and wife, Nikki, Darin and wife, Heidi and John Crawford and wife, Sandee; and six great-grandchildren, Tyler Hodges, Jordan Hodges, Noah Hodges, Jaxson Faircloth, Yates Hodges and Addin Hodges; several nieces and nephews also survive.
