I am so sorry about the loss of this special lady. I thought the world of her. Worked with her at Sara Lee for years and she was a delight. She called me "Jake". Don't know why, just something she started doing and it stuck. She was so precious and so much fun. May God grant you peace and comfort as you face the loss of this sweet soul.

Nancy, Bonnie, Robin and family, We are saddened by the loss of your precious mother. May GOD wrap his loving arms around you, now and in the days ahead. We never stop missing or loving our parents. Thelma was a hard working, friendly, Christian woman that reared 4 daughters with so much of the same character. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. If you need anything, please call.

Bonnie, Nancy, Robin and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Thelma was such a high spirit, jolly, honest, fun-loving, sweet, generous and always doing something to make us laugh. She could make you feel GOOD even if your were down. She was such a good cook...I remember how my Daddy bragged on her cookin'. He thought the world of her, your Dad and all of you. I know they would have and did do anything for each other thet they could. I remember the funny tales she would tell. I have laughed till my side hurt at some of the stuff. Long Branch won't be the same without Thelma. She was a trooper and a very strong person who dealt with anything in her path. I just wish sooo bad I'd have come to see her in the past few weeks. Seemed like something was always happening, but I know without one doubt in my mind, God had a hand in me being there when she came in on Friday. I got to go back and talk to her, hold her hand and give her a big hug and kissed her on the jaw and told her I loved her. She said she had such a good time on Thursday, Thanksgiving and just got worse real quick. I told her not to talk because she was so short of breath. She looked at me and grinned and told me she loved me and had the beautiful THELMA SMILE. I know that it definitely was meant for me to be there that day. It's so hard to give our loved ones up, but it's something we all know we must face, she faced her illness with dignity and strength. She will never be forgotten. I pray that God will give you girls and all the family the strength you will need in the days ahead of you. Take one day at a time. One thing I always say is....they are only a MEMORY away. We can keep them here with us as long as we have those wonderful cherished memories to walk beside us and we know that our Lord and Savior will be right there to help us take each step. Please know that I love all of you and will do anything I can for you at anytime. I'll end by saying, imagine what a reunion is going on in Heaven tonight! Gee, Thelma, Daddy, Jim and all their family who have long gone on. One day....we'll also be a part of that reunion. Love to all of you.

I am so sorry for your loss. The Bible provides comfort during these difficult times. Revelation 21:3-4 states, And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. Very soon now, we will never experience losing our loved ones in death. Hope these words give you a new hope.

Our hearts are saddened today as we learn of the passing of our dear, dear friend and relative Thelma.
Girls, and family, you only have good memories of your Mother. She was special and a "one of a kind" type of person. She has only moved over to her new home and is waiting for all of us to come join her. For some of us who are farther on our journey than others may be, it won't be very long.
Girls, just let God wrap his arms around you and comfort you in the days to come. It won't be easy but God has a way of helping us through this troublesome time when our hearts all begin to heal.
We love you all.
Marie and Roy

Bonnie, just wanted you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. You've had more than your share of losing loved ones lately. Your Mom was a special, sweet and caring person. Heard you all had a fun Thanksgiving and then your Mom got worse. That was a blessing from God. May the God of all comfort speak peace to your soul. Love and prayers.

I am so sad for you all in losing Ms Thelma. She was a great lady I really loved. Please find comfort knowing that she has only went to her final home and is seeing all her dear loved ones Wilma and Gee. Her memories are precious to me as she touched my heart from the first time I met her. She always had a smile on her face and something funny to say. She raised you girls to love the Lord and trust in the Lord. Keep her memories special as she was a special lady. God bless everyone of you. I love you all like you were my own family. I will be praying for each of you. Please remember that your mother is in Heaven now walking the streets of gold.

In the years I worked with Hospice, I always treasured the time I was able to spend with Thelma. She was such a wonderful woman. I would visit her to bring comfort, but she always made me feel better for being in her presence. Her family is a great representation of her work ethic, love of life, and most importantly her faith. You will all be in my prayers in the days ahead. May God bless you as much as Thelma has blessed me.

Dear Family,
I know that your hearts are breaking but know that God the great comforter will be with you through it all. Ms. Thelma was such a joy to be around, always smiling and enjoying life. I have spent many days at her house before your dad passed. He and my husband loved to hunt together and Ms. Thelma would always make sure we were fed when visiting her.I feel very blessed to have known this lovely lady. May you gain strength in knowing that she is now resting with the Lord she loved so dearly.

Dear Aunt Bonnie and family,
My greatest memories of coming to North Carolina was coming to see "Mouse". My kids loved coming there too. It was so wonderful to spend quality time with her and Aunt Bonnie, Frankie, Katrina and Ethan when we would come to visit. But, when we came we always had a fantasically cooked spread!!! Our personal favorites was her bread and chocolate gravy!
While the kids were out exploring on the 4 wheeler or fishing, I remember our conversations about "G" as she rubbed her charm around her neck with his fingerprint. She would tell me stories about him up on the holler. I can see her now with him with that beautfiul smile she ALWAYS had on her face!
Our visits will never be the same without her but I know that she is watching down on all of us, proud....and happy!
I hate that we can't be there to comfort you. But, I hope you know how much we love you and miss you!! Until we see you again.... XOXO
All our Love, Crissy, Steve, Andrea, Stephen & Kyle

I can close my eyes and hear her laughter, see her bright smile and feel the love she had in her heart for her Lord, family and friends. Her home was a haven for all that walked into her life, a place to run to escape the troubles and burdens of this world. A true mountain woman full of courage, strength and pride who loved her family dearly.
Mrs. Woods, thank you dearly for shareing you joy, laughter and love with us. For making us feel like part of the family, and for fond memories that will last us a lifetime.
Go in peace knowing that your faith in The Lord has been passed down to your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Until we meet again....
