Mrs. Isabel Osborne McCoy, age 95, of Winston-Salem, NC, formerly of Ashe County passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 10, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 13, 2013 at 1:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home, West Jefferson, NC with Rev. Gary Byrum, Rev. Herbert McCoy, and Whitley Austin officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:30- 1:00pm on Friday at Boone Family Funeral Home, West Jefferson, NC. Mrs. McCoy was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, May 14, 1918 to the late Charles and Edna Wilson Osborne. She worked at Jon-Marc's Department Store in the men's department. She was previously a member of Fletcher Memorial Church but now a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Glen McCoy; a son, Gordon McCoy; a brother; Robert Osborne; and two sisters; Mildred Jones and Mary Ellen Brown. Mrs. McCoy is survived by two daughter s, Betty Canada and husband, Larry, of Lewisville, NC and Billie Jo Carter and husband, Gordon, of Fort Worth, TX; a daughter-in-law, Mary Jean McCoy of Winston-Salem, NC seven grandchildren, Paula McDonald and husband, Benny, Rodney Canada and wife, Edy, Marcia Wieting and husband, Jim, Tawnya Holland and husband, Steve, Philip Williams and wife, Margie, Whitley Austin and husband, Joe and Christy McCoy; six great-grandchildren Ashley and husband Mich, Emilee and husband Todd, Gordon, Jessica, Mary Preston, and Preston; several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Samaritan's Purse, Franklin Graham, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
