Mrs. Hattie Bare Sheets, age 91, of Laurel Springs, passed away Wednesday morning, December 18, 2013 at Margate Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 20, 2013 at 2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Russell Sheets, Rev. Allen Mullins and Rev. Randy Lovelace officiating. Burial will follow in the Sheets Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1-2pm one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Sheets was born in Wilkes County on Monday, September 18, 1922 to the late Holden and Bessie Darnell Bare. She was a great cook and always enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all. She is preceded in death by her husband; Ralph Sheets; two brothers; Lloyd Bare and Charles Bare; and two sisters; Mabel Sheets and Anna Lee Bare. Mrs. Sheets is survived by three sons; Gilbert Sheets and wife Peggy of Wilkesboro, Larry Sheets of Laurel Springs, and James Sheets and wife Pam of Millers Creek; four daughters; Barbara Carter and husband Freddie of Cooleemee, NC, Shirley Mabe and husband E.J. of Laurel Springs, Linda Miller and husband Billy of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Shelia Wheeler of Laurel Springs; one brother; June Bare and wife Joyce of Laurel Springs; two sisters; Georgia Royall and husband Harold of Glendale Springs, and Marie Dillard and husband Bruce of Jefferson; two special friends, Barbara Severt and Sandra Burgess; sixteen grandchildren, Ricky Mabe, Kenny Mabe, Kevin Mabe, Donna Hartsell, Michael Sheets, Stephen Sheets, Randy Mash, Lisa Sharpe, Michelle Amburgey, Bobby Joe Taylor, Kimberly White, Nicole Miller, Julie Cunningham, Jamie Sheets, Laramie Sheets and Chad Little; thirty-two great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
