Today is a time of both sadness and joy as we mark the passing of Bryce Cook. We are sad that we will no long have this kind, generous, and loving heart amoung us, but we are joyous as we celebrate a life well lived. We are also greatful that his pain and suffering has come to an end and he is now in a far better place.
We remember all the fun and happy times we shared whenever we got together - all the jokes and the laughter, all the great meals, and the warm bond of a family that while separated by distance was never far from each other in thought.
Rest in peace dear cousin. Your work is done. We will miss you, but we will not forget you!

I just wanted to express my sympathy for the loss of your husband/father. Our loving heavenly father never intended for us to go through the pain of losing our dear loved ones. I know this is a difficult time for your family, but please draw comfort from the fact that soon our heavenly father will cause death to be "no more" and he also promises to bring back our loved ones that have already "fallen asleep" in death. (2Cor.1:3,4, Rev.21:3,4, John 5:28,29 and 1Thess.4:14)
Imagine the tears of joy as we welcome back our dear loved ones! Reflecting on God's promise of a resurrection give us a wonderful hope for the future. For more comforting thoughts, go to www.jw.org.

We're thinking of you, Davia, and remembering the good times we had with you and Bryce. We will miss him, but always remember his sense of humor and easy manner. A good and honest man, a faithful caregiver to the many in our family who relied on him... he was, to us, a wonderful cousin. I (Joe) will never forget the ride to the top of the mountain in his ATV just two years ago. Or the tour of Ashe county to introduce Jan to Dad's "high country". Bryce & Jan bonded immediately on their love of cooking. She will always remember his expert tips. From now on, her pinto beans will include his "secret" ingredient -- a "little bit" of peanut butter. We do miss you, Bryce. We always will.

Aunt Davia, Marea, Craig & Mary, my heart goes out to you on this sad occasion. Uncle Bryce has been my special friend and a positive influence in my life for as long as I can remember. my earliest memory is when I was 3 or 4 years old and we were visiting Mama Cook and Papa Cook when they still lived at the farm in WJ. He took me to the barn so I could watch him milk the cows. Of course, he squirted me in the face with milk and laughed so hard he almost fell off the stool. At first I cried, but then he made me laugh too. He always loved a good joke, and he continued to make me smile and laugh all through the years. We both loved to fish, so during my summers spent at Mama Cook's, Uncle Bryce took me fishing countless times. When I was about 10 or 11, he had the patience to teach me how to catch trout out of the mountain creeks and the New River. To this day, I still fish the same streams, and think about Uncle Bryce every time I go. Uncle Bryce was always in a good mood, kind and friendly to every person he met and always ready to lend a helping hand. He also had amazing musical talent and taught himself to play many instruments. He was truly one of the good guys, and I will miss him.

I am so sorry for your loss. The Bible provides comfort during these difficult times. Revelation 21:3-4 states, And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. Very soon now, we will never experience losing our loved ones in death. Hope these words give you a new hope.
