Obituary of Benjamin Bryce Cook
Mr. Benjamin Bryce Cook, age 79, of Warrensville passed away Wednesday morning, January 1, 2014 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 5, 2014 at 2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Gregg Plott, Rev. Margaret Wannemacher and Rev. Randy Wall officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Boone Family Funeral Home.
Mr. Cook was born in Ashe County on September 16, 1934 to the late Benjamin Fredrick and Bessie Welborn Cook. He was the manager of Kansas City Steak House, which later turned into Western Steer Steak House. He opened Cook's Cafeteria in Boone Mall and later moved to Mountain City, Tennessee. Bryce was a member of the Clifton United Methodist Church. In his spare time he loved fishing. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife Davia Sutherland Cook of 58 years of marriage; one daughter; Marea Pinto and husband Craig of Conover; one brother; John Cook of Boone; three sisters; Mary Francis Nelson of West Jefferson, Juanita Houck of West Jefferson, and Wyonna Hodges of Middle River, Maryland; one granddaughter; Mary Pinto of Conover; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
