There is nothing better (nothing) than being Saved by God's Grace when he calls us home! May the love of God be with the family during this sad time.

I am so sorry for your loss. Please accept my condolences.
Words don't always ease the pain when we are grieving the loss of a love one. I hope you will find comfort in Jesus' promise of an earthly resurrection hope.(John 5:28,29) He will raise those who are now sleeping in death..restoring them back to life..on the renewed paradise earth. What a wonderful blessing to look forward to. May Jehovah God the "Hearer of Prayer" (Psalms 65:2) bless and comfort your family during this grievous time. Please visit jw.org for more information on "When someone you love dies" for added comfort.

Jane and all the family, I'm very sorry to hear of Chub's death. During the early years of Chub and Jack, they lived with us,just around the hill. Later on Jack went to live with his parents. Chub continued to live with my Mom and Dad (John and Hattie Brooks.} There were few disagreements between us. We were all family. I thank God for having the opportunity to share a part of my life with Chub and Jack. Chub became the best fisherman in the area. He was an outstanding worker, honest, dependable and highly respected by everyone. When it became time to select a mate, he made a great choice in choosing a fine, young lady--Jane. My wife (Anna) and I will always remember the enjoyable trip to Nashville with you and Chub. Our loss will be Heaven's gain.

I am so sorry for your loss. The Bible provides comfort during these difficult times. Revelation 21:3-4 states, And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. Very soon now, we will never experience losing our loved ones in death. Hope these words give you a new hope.

I remember mom and dad (JT & Anna) taking me, Thomas & Cindy many times to visit Chub when we were growing up. I was always excited to see what animals he had for us to play with - ducks, dogs, cats and more. And he was the only person I've ever known to have a pet bobcat. Chub & Jane were always so good to us, and I'll cherish the memories I have of him.

What a blessing it is to know Chub and his family. He was one of the kindest people I have ever met and had such a gentle soul. We will miss him very much but I know he is in the presence of the Lord today. The bible says that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. What a wonderful thought that is. If there is anything we can do, we are just a phone call away. We love you all so much and you are so special to us. Praying for God to comfort you as only he can. Rodney, Kim, Noah & Sara Johnson

Jane, Cindy, Jackie, Randy, & family, We were shocked and saddened to learn of Chub's illness and death. Due to some back issues and treatment, I will be unable to travel up for the services. But please know that our love, our thoughts, and our prayers go out to you at this difficult time. We will be sending a card & memorial by "slow-mail" this week to Jane at the home address. Know that our caring & concern for you folks in all your recent losses is very much a part of our day and our prayer time. I was so pleased to see Chub at mama's visitation back in November. Out of over 200 people who came through to offer their condolences to us, Chub was one that really stood out in my mind. His presence there was (to me) unexpected and a pleasant surprise. He seemed so genuinely saddened by mama's passing and so tender-spirited at that time, that I could not help but think that he must have loved our mama very much. He didn't appear at all like a "tough mountain man" who wasn't comfortable showing emotion. He was touched by what we were going through, and he shared his caring in such a gentle,
unashamed way that I was truly comforted by his presence. Looking back, I now wonder if somehow, he kind of knew that his own "home-going" was soon coming. He was tough. He was self-sufficient. He bore a lot of loss and responsibility on his shoulders. He was a 'Duck Dynasty' kind of guy...and that kind of person is very popular now. I just hate that, too late, I've come to see the sensitive, "I-can-cry-with-you' cousin who lived inside the tough, independent man-of-the-mountains that I grew up knowing. God bless you and be with you all as you mourn his loss. He will definitely be missed. Janie & Steve
