Mrs. Mossie Holman Davis, age 96, of Blowing Rock, formerly of Ashe County passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Watauga Medical Center. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February16, 2014 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Rash officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Sunday, February 16, 2014 one hour prior to the memorial service. Mrs. Davis was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, April 3, 1917 to the late George and Mary Mack Holman. She was a cashier in a retail store. Mossie was a member of Laurel Knob Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Glennette; five brothers, Jess Holman, Joe Holman, Freeman Holman, Roger Holman and Coolidge Holman; four sisters, Deane Wilcox, Mable Wilcox, Ruth Prince, Mary Barr. Mrs. Davis is survived by a son, Kyle Wilcox and wife, Diane, of Blowing Rock; four daughters, Carol Grogan, and husband, JD of Greensboro, Gail Burkette, of Greensboro, Susan Hodges and husband, James, of Greenwood, SC and Robin Karringon and husband, Kevin, of Blowing Rock; a brother, Greer Holman, of Wilkesboro; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
