Mrs. Peggy Jones Allen, age 59, of West Jefferson, died Tuesday morning, March 3, 2009 at Watauga Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 2:00pm at Bald Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. Lawrence Goodman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Bald Mountain Baptist Church. Mrs. Allen was born in Ashe County on Monday, May 2, 1949 to the late Wade Junior Jones and Della Yates Jones. She was a member of Bald Mountain Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Leona Miller and a brother, Jerry Jones. She is survived by her husband, Larry Allen; four daughters, Kim Howell and husband, Richard, of Lincolnton, NC, Bethany Eldreth of West Jefferson, Allysa Roten and husband, James, of West Jefferson and Angela Allen of Lansing; her mother, Della Yates Jones of Warrensville; two brothers, Tony (Tob) Jones, of Warrensville and Bobby Jones of Gibsonville, NC; a sister, Freda McNeill, of West Jefferson; three grandchildren, Wesley Roten, Jamie Roten and Natalie Allen; several nieces and nephews also survive.
