Allen was a great inspiration in my life and had shown me many a lesson in how to conduct myself as a man. I first met Allen when he came to Parker Tie and his memory will always stay with me. From the lessons in the scripture of God's word to the literal infinate wealth of technical knowledge. Allen had always encouraged me to follow my dream of starting my landscape business and here I am today if it had not been for his words of encouragement I may have never tried it.
My sincerest sympathy to Connie and Amanda in their time of loss.

Connie and Amanda,
We sorrow with you that Allen is no longer with us, but rejoice that he has truly won a victory over the disease that caused him and you much suffering the past few years. Sometimes God heals our sickness here and sometimes His healing comes through the gift of a new perfect body and the gift of being with Him forever.
His positive attitude and spirit was such an inspiration to us. His dedication to the Word and his love for teaching it will continue to influence our lives as we press on.
Lord Jesus, receive, we pray, your child Allen Watson and give him in your heavenly kingdom what was impossible for him to have here. Surround Connie and Amanda and the family with the shelter of your comfort and love. And, as they entrust Allen to you, help them to find peace once again as they sense in faith you holding him and as they experience in reality you holding them.

I am deeply saddened by Allen's illness and death. However, Heaven is infinitely better for all who are vitally united with Christ. There is so much to anticipate in that place that Christ has prepared. I pray that the realities of the resurrected Christ will minister comfort and hope in this dark trial.
I regret not being able to attend the memorial service but my responsibilities will not permit.

I'll always remember the times I spent with him and his family at his home in Maryland and just standing in awe staring at his massive train set that took up the entire basement he was so proud to show off. It was truly a wonderful experience and though I haven't seen him in a few years I will definitely miss him, but I will always have fond memories of him.

Allen was such an inspiration to our Sunday School class. He loved teaching God's Word and his passion for the gospel and his love for our class was evident as he came to church even when weak and weary. What a thrill it was for this Tidewater Virginia girl to hear Allen tell stories of his days at Newport News Shipbuilding, where all my family worked! Allen, I know you are delighting today in the Lord you loved and served!

What an example of Jesus this man was. He ministered from the heart and it was obvious of his love for Christ. You could always tell he put a lot of time into teaching and he loved sharing Christ with others. We feel so blessed to have crossed paths with him for we have grown spiritually through his teachings. We know that Jesus said, "Well done and faithful servant."

I will never forget my Walk to Emmaus weekend, when one special morning we "pilgrims" were moved out onto a porch of the mess hall to be greeted by a crowd of well-wishers, singing praises to the Lord. I was sure there would not be anyone there that I knew. But, there is the back, on my left, stood a friend with a big grin on his face, waving to me - Allen Watson. Then I saw a couple of other friends to his right. A morning that I will never forget.

Connie and Amanda,
You have my deepest sympathies.
Allen was a wonderful Friend and Brother in Christ. I have many wonderful memories of Al most of them are humorous. Al had a great sense of humor and a radiant smile.
We had many great times in Sunday School Class, Small Men’s Group Meetings that met at O’ Dark Thirty (5:30 a.m.) Thursday mornings, Promise Keepers events, and of course assembling and lighting the 12' artificial Gathering Room Chrismon Tree at Trinity United Methodist Church.
We had many serious discussions about as Al would call it, “Good Food such as Krispy Kreme doughnuts. While traveling to Promise Keepers events such as the trip that we took to Pittsburgh Al insisted that we stop by a Cracker Barrel Restaurant. He talked about Cracker Barrel Restaurants so much that I look for them when I am traveling. I have stopped at many of them along the roads that I have traveled. They do serve “Good Food at Cracker Barrel.
Some of the best memories that I have of Al are the many times that Al and I assembled and installed the lights on the Chrismon Tree at Trinity UMC. The first year or so we plugged too many strings of lights together and the fuses would blow in the strings of lights losing large areas of the lights on the tree. After a couple of years we finally read the instructions that came with the lights that said not to plug in any more than two strings of lights together. There was another time when Al started working on the tree before I arrived. Al had installed a couple of layers of the branches and the lights. When I arrived I started putting the branches in the next layer and I noticed that the branches of the tree were longer than the lower branches. Al had installed the center post upside down. We had to dismantle what was done incorrectly and start all over again. Of course I never let him forget that incident.
The best memory that I have of Al was April 28, 2002 when my “Walk To Emmaus was closing. There was a crowd of about 200 people that had gathered that evening. When I looked out into the crowd the first person that I saw was Allen Watson with his beautiful big beaming smile on his face. That is a Precious Memory that I will never forget.
Connie and Amanda, Remember the Good Times.
Love,
Big Jack Woodford

There are no words that I could say to express the sadness felt upon hearing that Allen had gone home. I worked with him on a couple of projects at Calvert Cliffs; he epitomized what it meant to be a project manager. Everyone on the team associated with the project could expect to always have their voices heard; truly he cared about what your part of the project was. He was able to keep his sense of humor even in high pressure situations, but expected you to be on top of your game as well. May God continue to bless you and your family always.

Al, you were my friend and mentor when I got prostate cancer in 2001. You told me who to see and what to do, at a time when I was very afraid. You turned fear into hope. After I was finished with my treatment, we laughed about our experiences. And you taught me how to be a mentor to the next guy. I'll miss you Al.

My life and my family were changed by the actions of this good man Al Watson. Four years ago my daughter Erin was in a horrible head-on collision. She was flown to the closest trauma center. My wife and I did not expect our dear daughter to survive. She sustained massive internal injuries and her condition became progressively worse in the days following her accident. Hundreds of our friends, literally around the world were praying for her, including those of whom we were unaware were offering their prayers on her behalf. We received a letter from a church in Boone, NC. The letter spoke of the men in that church who were praying for our daughter's recovery. We never knew who had sent that letter or what our connection to this church may have been. Now almost four years later, learning of the passing of Al and learning of his church in Boone through the announcement of his death in the local paper (Calvert County, MD), we now know who prayed for our daughter in her dire time of need. Al Watson must have heard our daughter was in this accident and then he pulled together others from his church to pray for her. Their prayers made a difference, a huge difference. Our daughter did survive, and though she carries the physical reminders of this horrific accident her life is rich. She is now a college graduate, a wife and a mother. Now we know who that good person was in that church in North Carolina that we knew nothing about who prayed for our beloved daughter. God's peace to you my friend Al Watson. By His good grace we will shake hands again on the other side someday and I can thank you for your prayers face to face.
