Mrs. Travis Marie Woodie Hamby, age 71, of Fleetwood passed away Monday evening, May 26, 2014 at her residence. The family will have a private funeral service but family and friends are welcome to visit the family at the home of Tim and Teresa Hamby at 178 Railroad Grade Road in Fleetwood. Mrs. Hamby was born in Ashe County on Thursday, July 9, 1942 to the late Clive and Virginia Watson Woodie. She was a co-owner of the Country Market. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Ray Hamby. Mrs. Hamby is survived by a son, Tim Hamby and wife, Teresa, of Fleetwood; a daughter, Vickie Hamby Moore and husband, Chris, of Fleetwood; three grandchildren, Evan Moore and wife, Kayla, Amanda Hamby and Alicia Hamby; three great-grandchildren, Ava Moore, Levi Moore and Vance Moore also survive.
